MMA – For the more advanced male and female students, this comprehensive program furthers your skills with a range of fighting techniques and disciplines that include Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, wrestling, kickboxing and Western-style boxing. This class will focus on refining your skills, increasing your stamina, teaching situational non-contact sparring, advanced techniques for use of the cage, and the application of MMA in real life self-defense situations. MMA Fundamentals – For the beginning male and female students, this comprehensive program teaches you the basics of the various disciplines involved in MMA including Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, wrestling, kickboxing and Western-style boxing and their integration as a unified fighting system. This class goes way beyond cardio kickboxing!
Grappling for MMA – This class focuses on grappling as it may be used in the sport of MMA. A no gi class, students will learn the fundamentals of body positioning, hand placement, and the defense and offensive submissions necessary to compete and win in MMA.
Beginner Boxing – Geared toward beginner male and female students, this comprehensive program will introduce students to a range of techniques, skills and disciplines fundamental to Western-style boxing. You will learn the jab, cross, hook and upper-cut as well as the basic applicable defensive techniques utilized by the pros. This class also incorporates the core, cardio and strength exercises that make boxers some of the most well-conditioned athletes in the world. Get ready, this is a challenging workout!
Advanced Boxing – In this class, you will take the fundamentals learned in Beginner Boxing and practice your techniques through advanced combinations and defensive positioning. This class will show you what the pros throw and why. After this workout, you will really respect the time and discipline it takes to make it in the “sweet science!”
Beginner Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Based on Grand Master Helio Gracie’s famous self-defense lessons, this program focuses on the most probable moves of a self-defense situation as well as basic Brazilian jiu jitsu positioning and techniques. Lessons include surprise, stand-up defensive tactics, throws and takedowns, as well as a thorough arsenal of ground grappling submission techniques. This program is the backbone of the entire Brazilian Jiu Jitsu system. This class is no gi and no sparring. Advanced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu – Based on Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, this program consists of a rotating ground curriculum that focuses on one area of ground grappling for the entire week. Example: Mount position bottom. This class is more advanced and requires a gi. Sparring is included, but not mandatory, at the end of each class. Wrestling – This program focuses on the fundamentals of wrestling including all forms of take-downs and ground positioning. This is one heck of a workout you don’t want to miss!
Beginner Muay Thai Kickboxing – Geared toward beginner male and female students, this comprehensive program will introduce a range of fighting techniques, skills and disciplines included in Muay Thai kickboxing. You will learn the basics of the “science of eight limbs” including punches, kicks, knees and elbows as well as the clinch. This class incorporates the core, cardio and strength exercises that make Muay Thai fighters some of the strongest and toughest athletes in the world.
Kickboxing & Muay Thai Kickboxing – For those looking for a pure stand up workout without the ground techniques. Utilizing a combination of striking forms such as Western-style boxing, kickboxing, savate, taekwondo, karate and Muay Thai, this workout is designed to build your strength, stamina, core and cardio by teaching a combination of the stand-up striking forms utilized in MMA today.
Cardio Kickboxing – This intense program will introduce a range of fighting techniques, skills and disciplines included in Muay Thai kickboxing along with a heaping help of cardio. You will learn the basics of the “science of eight limbs” including punches, kicks, knees and elbows as well as the clinch. But most of all, you will work and work and work to increase and develop your conditioning to levels unknown.
Fighter Training – Come train with the Emerald Smoke fight team who really lay it on the line and get in the cage to fight! This class is intense and not for beginners. You will train with our members who fight on both the amateur and professional level and help prepare them for their actual fights! This class will involve all levels of grappling, striking and transitions. Maybe this will be your foray into a fight career as well. Our instructors reserve the right to evaluate your skill level and determine whether or not this class is appropriate for you.
Strength & Conditioning – Gear up for this challenging workout! This program uses kettle bells to increase power as well as combines strength and conditioning exercises with technique including plyometrics, combat sports, crossfit and body-weight conditioning to deliver outstanding results.
Open Sparring – This time is designed for those who wish to spar under the watchful eye of one of our instructors. Appropriate protective gear is required as is permission from one of our staff.
Sports Team Camps – We create mixed martial arts-based training regimens for athletic teams at the high school and college level. These provide incalculable benefits in terms of hand-eye coordination, core strength, aerobic capacity and mental health. Kids Program – Emerald Smoke’s Kids Program focuses on many of the same skills and disciplines that we teach to our adults, including Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, wrestling, kickboxing and Western-style boxing. All classes are “no contact” and focus on learning discipline and technique in a structured yet fun environment. Children have the opportunity to learn traditional stand-up techniques and have the option to advance through the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu belt system. Classes are available for all children ages 8 to 15.
