It’s around lunchtime on a warm Chicago afternoon in the middle of summer, and while most people in the city are about ready to take a break from work and grab a bite to eat, Chris Bergeron is just beginning his day.
This 25-year-old Detroit native lives a much different lifestyle than the traditional 9-to-5er. He isn’t on the clock. He doesn’t draw a salary. In layman’s terms, he’s unemployed. But if you ask him what he does for a living, his answer is as quick as his jab.
“I’m training to become a professional mixed martial arts fighter.”
Bergeron is one of those people.
